Hey hey! You go girl!

Hopefully it's only one day!

Janet did soooo well! Only one day and bone pain minimal!

You mentioned Mozobil. Bad news for us; it was a two hour drive! Good news, leather seats, problem resolved! :D

You go girl! You are so on the right track! Make him walk, walk, walk!

Janet's latest numbers after March 16, 2016 transplant: situation normal! Blood chem normal, no M-spike. Hair starting to grow back. Honey-do projects abound! My oh my!

Best of luck!

One day harvest! :D We do not have to go back until Wednesday June 1st for his admission. It will be the first entire week we have not had to go to the doctor since his diagnosis.

They changed his CVC (central line) bandage yesterday so I would not have to unless it gets wet, soiled, etc. The bandage change is good for 7 days. I will, for the first time since its placement, have to flush it though. I think I can do it ok. I have watched them every time they have flushed it.

Johnboy, he had minimal bone pain as well. He had pain meds but did not have to take any. He said if he could just get through the transplant as well as he has through the treatment and harvest, he would be a happy guy ... and I will be a very happy wife.

I will post more on admission/chemo day. Untill then we are going to enjoy the week off! :D

Well we are down to the last couple of days at home. They will be busy getting things ready to be gone for a month and also getting things ready to take with us to be there a month. It is hard to decide what you will and will not need, so we are just guessing the best we can and if we need something we did not take we will buy it. We are only an hour away, so our son can bring us things as well if we need them.

We are getting a little nervous but I know he is ready to get on with it. At least it is warm weather so the daily trips back and forth to the clinic will be easier than if it was winter and cold. Also, it will make walking and getting some fresh air easier as well. There is a large park across the street from our motel, so that will be nice.

We check in Wednesday morning for chemo, then rest day, and transplant on Friday.

Did you ever think that you would be at this point several months ago when you started this process? Hopefully things will continue to go smoothly for your husband with his transplant. Look at this time as a little vacation even though you will be dealing with medical stuff the entire month. June 1 is the beginning of a new life phase.

All the best,
Nancy in Phila

Nancy,

No, when he was first diagnosed last December, this did seam a long way off; now it is here.
We not only love each either very much, we are each other's best friends. We like each other's company so maybe we won't get on each other's nerves too much.

We plan on catching up on lots of TV, some reading and just trying to make the best of the situation that has been dealt us. One hard part will be missing out little dog, Rascal. He is a 6 lb spoiled little guy. He is our baby, but our son will be taking good care of him, and after the first 2 weeks, we may even be able to bring him up to stay the rest of the month with us as the motel is pet friendly.

If my husband is progressing well, the doctor does not see a problem with it, since he is not a new pet (we have had him 5 years). Just no kisses for Daddy..
