Glad to hear about your femur filling back in. I'm hoping for the same thing with my rib.
Sorry to hear about your M-spike not going down, though. I haven't seen my number after my 2nd cycle of Kyprolis, Revlimid, and dexamethasone (KRD), and I've just started my third cycle. Was hoping to see the M-spike number before then. I will be interested in your KRD vs. RVD decision.

Re: PostiveChris's RVD / VRD induction therapy
My M-Spike just came back at 0.2 g/dL (2 g/l). It's slowly chipping away at the remaining cancer. Since my lab only reports to one decimal, it's likely that the Kyprolis has been working the whole time. 0.3 for two months, then 0.2 could easily be something like this: 3.4, 2.6, 1.7, resulting in a report of 0.3, 0.3, 0.2. I'm not going to worry about it any more, and will keep going through this and the next cycle, which will wrap up in Mid-May, and then we'll harvest for a stem cell transplant.

Looks like we are both on the same schedule! I'm doing my stem cell collection mid-May, then transplant in early June.
Best of luck!

Re: PostiveChris's RVD / VRD induction therapy
Looks like a few of us are on the same schedule. I should complete my last cycle of Revlimid, Velcade, and dexamethasone (RVD) induction in the first week of May. My M-spike has been non-detectable the last 3 tests, but I'll have a PET scan to be sure nothing lights up, and then will proceed with the harvest and transplant about 5 weeks later. It will be interesting to compare notes.

Re: PostiveChris's RVD / VRD induction therapy
Sorry for being out of touch.
I had stem cell collection in March and am continuing with the next 15 weeks of Revlimid, Velcade, and dexamethasone (RVD). We are still hoping to avoid a transplant.
M-spike is down to 0.07 g/dL from 7.2 d/dL. But no complete response (CR) yet.
Other than fatigue I am hanging in there.
Hope you guys are well.

Re: PostiveChris's RVD / VRD induction therapy
Hello Chris and Benny.
Good to hear of your success and supremacy over the M-spike. I am scheduled for an autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) in mid June. My M-spike is presently at 0.6 g/dL, down 0.2 from the month before, after having dropped in much larger increments the first few months. Chipping away is a good way to describe it. I have a just a couple of more weeks of induction therapy scheduled. Pretty anxious about what lies ahead, but know there are lots of friends here.
Best wishes to you guys.

Re: PostiveChris's RVD / VRD induction therapy
Hey folks,
M-spike is down to 1.0. PET Scan tomorrow.
I wrap up my cycle next Friday, we start the harvest process on June 2, and my stem cell transplant starts June 22. I'll be outpatient for the first 4-5 days, then check into the hospital after that.
Plasma burden in my bone marrow is 0.1%, of which I'm told 0.03% is the bad stuff. I started at 30% plasma, so this is great news.
Benny: Curious why no stem cell transplant for you?
Everyone else, I look forward to keeping up with your progress, and wish you all the best.

Re: PostiveChris's RVD / VRD induction therapy
I am on a clinical trial trying to see if bigger and longer doses of treatment can avoid a stem cell transplant.
I had the collection done and can do it at any time, but right now we are hoping to get to a complete response (CR) and keep the stem cell transplant in the "bag" until relapse.
That's the idea anyhow. If I don't get to a CR then I will likely do the stem cell transplant anyway.

Re: PostiveChris's RVD / VRD induction therapy
I made a huge mistake in my last post. My M-Spike was 0.1 g/dL, not 1.0!
PET scan came back great showing no activity.
Stem cell collection is in a few weeks.
I have been sick a few times the past month. My IgG is 352. I had to get an IgG transfusion in the ER on Sunday. I didn't even know that was a thing until they gave it to me.
This latest bout of sickness came after a Zometa injection. I'm still not sure if Zometa flu is real.
I'm also taking Tamiflu (oseltamivir) and antibiotics to attempt to kill off whatever I've got right now.
I finished my last round of induction therapy last week. It should be easier to recover now and get healthy for the stem cell transplant.

Re: PostiveChris's RVD / VRD induction therapy
Hi Chris -
I hope your collection went well. Mine took 2 days (June 1 & 2) as they did not collect enough cells the first day. Would really prefer not to ever do all that again and I especially sympathize with the women who have it tougher to rid their body of the additional liquids being pumped in.
I have been in complete response (CR) since middle of February (half way through induction), but I have complete trust in my medical team that this is the best course for me. I begin the transplant process on Wednesday (June 7).
Best of luck with yours.
