This last Friday marked the 19th anniversary from when I first presented with a broken back, and subsequent multiple myeloma diagnosis. It's been quite the ride since then, but it's always worthwhile! Hope to keep on keeping on.

Re: 19th anniversary of multiple myeloma diagnosis
Congratulations Gary! Love hearing of long-term survival. I was diagnosed 5 years ago and didn't think I would make it to my 50th birthday, but happily 2 months ago we did!
I'm sure it has not been easy. Nineteen years is amazing, truly inspirational. Thank you for sharing.

Congratulations Gary! Could you share with us any ideas as to what has helped you in this journey, perhaps year by year? Each of us is different, but we are all interested in living a relatively normal long life. Regards, Nancy

Re: 19th anniversary of multiple myeloma diagnosis
Great news Gary.
Being on the younger side for multiple myeloma, this is the news I need to hear. I've met several myeloma patients since I was diagnosed, including one who was 20 years into his journey, and another who was 17years into it. I get the impression it's all down to how your myeloma behaves itself.
I also have my stem cell transplant tomorrow. Will be pleased when that's behind me. Getting a bit stressed and worried now. I bet you remember that feeling back in the day of your multiple myeloma journey?
Thanks for the post.
Dean
