There apparently was a 60th birthday celebration for Pat today at the hospital, attended by Pattie and some friends and family. However, Pat is on life support and cannot breathe, and as I understand it, the doctors have given Pattie no hope, which is why she wanted to have the celebration, to honor Pat.
It does not look good.

Re: Pat Killingsworth
I am so saddened to hear of Pat’s terrible struggles. I am quite new here, but from reading this thread and the comments section on Pat’s recent column, it is clear that he is wonderful, generous and caring advocate for all myeloma sufferers and a very valued member of the Myeloma Beacon community. I am praying for a miracle for Pat.

Much love to Pat and to Pattie as they go through this latest crisis. I know that whatever is the best for Pat at this stage will come to be. He has been such a wonderful support and friend to all of us with myeloma.

Re: Pat Killingsworth
There have been a number of reports on social media and elsewhere indicating -- sadly -- that Pat Killingsworth has passed away. We also were told earlier today by someone close to Pat's family that Pat was unlikely to make it through the day.
We do not have any reason to believe that the reports of Pat's passing are incorrect.
However, we also have no official confirmation of the news from individuals either within Pat's family, or close to the family. So we do not feel it appropriate to report about his passing until we have further confirmation.
We hope members of the forum will understand our position on this matter. We believe in a matter such as this that the reporting should be accurate and done in collaboration with the family.
We'll post or publish more information as it becomes available.
Thanks!

What a touching way for Pattie to honor Pat on his birthday and the end of his journey on earth. She has always been a wonderful example of a loving caregiver. Prayers for her in the days ahead. Pat gave all the multiple myeloma community so much. He fought for all of us.

Re: Pat Killingsworth
I do not pray, but I reflect with awe and appreciation.
Pat is prolly the best "Warrior" that we have seen, thru his many battles with this ugly disease. He and Dr. Arnie Goodman can reflect on their tremendous battles fought, past and present.
For awhile, it appeared that multiple myeloma could not even hope to prevail, against these two.
Rest your fevered brows, Pat, Arnie.
I wish these Warriors well, wherever they may be.

Re: Pat Killingsworth
I'm new, to myeloma and the Beacon, but even in my short time, from my readings, Pat had become a familiar face and voice. Devastating news.
My heart breaks for his family, and for the multiple myeloma community he gave so generously to. He left a significant, meaningful footprint.
