This week’s poll is about the Velcade dosing schedule for maintenance therapy.
A few clarifications:
First, this poll is for people with multiple myeloma who have taken Velcade (bortezomib) maintenance therapy within the last year.
Second, maintenance therapy is any treatment given for a prolonged period of time after completion of induction (initial) treatment. Generally, maintenance therapy regimens are less intensive -- involving fewer drugs and/or lower or less frequent doses of drugs -- than induction therapy regimens.
Third, if you required any modifications to the dosing schedule, possibly in order to manage side effects, please vote for the schedule that you found most tolerable or used for the longest part of your maintenance regimen.
Fourth, if you are a caregiver or family member of a myeloma patient, feel free to answer on their behalf.
As always, feel free to post comments, thoughts, or feedback in the space below. They can be very useful to other readers.
In particular, if you selected "Other," please describe your dosing schedule below. Please also feel free to provide information about the actual dose you used.
The Beacon also conducted a similar poll asking about Velcade dosing schedules used for all types of Velcade treatment (induction, consolidation, maintenance, salvage, single-agent, combination therapy, etc.):

Re: Weekly Poll - Velcade Maintenance Dosing Schedule
My dad is suggested to have 1.3mg/m2 (dose at induction), twice a month. If any of you are having this, could you please share your journey with me? We're hoping to have it reduced to once every month.
