This week's weekly polls are about how happy myeloma patients are with their decisions to undergo stem cell transplants. This one is about allogeneic (donor) stem cell transplants. There's one running simultaneously about autologous stem cell transplants.
A few clarifications:
First, this question is for readers who have multiple myeloma and have had at least one aullogeneic stem cell transplant (that is, a stem cell transplant involving a donor's stem cells – not the patient's own stem cells). If you have had both types of transplants, feel free to vote in both of this week's polls.
Second, if you are a caregiver or family member of a myeloma patient who has had a donor stem cell transplant, feel free to answer on their behalf.
Third, if none of the options perfectly summarize your feelings about your decision to have a donor transplant, please select the option that best categorizes how happy you are with your decision and comment below to explain.
As always, feel free to post additional comments, thoughts, or feedback in the space below.
Details of your own stem cell transplant experience – why you are happy or unhappy about your transplant experience, the challenges you experienced, how severe they were, and how you dealt with them -- will be very useful to other readers.
