This week's editions of the Beacon's Weekly Polls are about the timing of stem cell transplants. Many myeloma patients undergo stem cell transplantation once they have responded to initial treatment. Others are delaying their stem cell transplant until they have relapsed? What timing did you choose?
A few clarifications:
First, this question is for readers who have multiple myeloma and have had an autologous stem cell transplant (that is, a stem cell transplant involving a patient’s own stem cells – not stem cells from a donor).
Second, if you are a caregiver or family member of a myeloma patient who has had an autologous stem cell transplant, feel free to answer on their behalf.
As always, feel free to post comments, thoughts, or feedback in the space below.
This week, we are running two polls. If you have had an allogeneic (donor) stem cell transplant, be sure to vote in that poll as well:
When did you have your first donor stem cell transplant?
