To those who have had bmb's
Do any of you find that the specific spot where your bmb was done, that you still have a bit of pain months or years after? I had one done in 2010 and the damn location where it was done still stings at times. Not sure if a sciatic nerve was hit or if this is normal?

I have had 4 BMB so far, but no lingering pain. It does seem a bit unusual to have pain that long afterward

It's possible it's sciatica, which either could have been caused by the BMB or something other. Maybe its just coincidence its in the same area as where my BMB was done

I have had 5 bmbs and the last one was very painful. The pain from it comes and goes and is a reminder of my condition.

The spot where I've had many biopsies itches off and on.

I couldn't tell where the biopsy was taken just a few days after the procedure. However, see the last sentence in the following:

I've had 4 bmbs and never hurt more than an couple of days after any of them. The first was much more painful than the others at the time it was done but I think that was the doctor performing the biopsy more than the biopsy procedure itself.

hink the pain was due to my doctor first attempting to do it without knocking me out. On 2nd attempt I was totally knocked out and when they were done I awoke thinking they hadn't started yet.

I've had 16 or 17+ (???) BMB done over the past 10 years (Thank you very much!) and I have not had the pain you have had. It does seem unusual! Make sure your Dr. is aware of and understands the problem! On a side note, I take 2 Ibuprofen approx 1 hour before I go in for the BMB and it helps me a LOT!! Make sure it is OK with the Dr. first, of course! With the ibuprofen I do not stress in advance. All our best to you!
