Re: Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
My husband is on dex, Revlimid (5 mg) and elotuzumab (Empliciti) (clinical trial). He never had tinnitus before multiple myeloma. The ringing in the ears seems to be more prominent on infusion days and the days following infusion. He's been on treatment now for 2 years. The ringing only started this year though.

Re: Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
I know this is an older thread, but I thought I would add some observations I have made about tinnitus. I have experienced tinnitus in both ears several times in my pre-multiple myeloma years which lasted months at a time, and I never really found the cause or the reason for the sudden stop of it.
I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in November 2016 and am on my 5th cycle of CyBorD (cyclophosphamide, Velcade, and dexamethasone). Last month i caught a cold / flu with respiratory chest congestion and went on antibiotics. The tinnitus returned on March 12th and has stayed constant since. A rather loud hissing that never ceases. My GP said I had some wax build up in my left ear, but the other ear looked fine. The noise is the same in both ears.
I read that tingling or hissing in the ears (i.e. tinnitus) can be one of the side effects of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. I discussed the tinnitus with one of my doctors at the cancer clinic and he confirmed that tinnitus may indeed be a result of the Velcade and the peripheral neuropathy. I was told to monitor and report if it worsens in any way such as effecting my hearing. No other magic cures. I have tried flushing my ears with olive oil and warm water with little to no effect.

Re: Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
My husband is on dexamethasone only and he gets very bad tinnitus when he is taking it. He also occasionally gets dex flare ups (when he is not taking dex, but feels like he is), and this is always accompanied by tinnitus.
Re: Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
I don't have a ringing in my ears but more of a pounding sound. I'm on maintenance Revlimid for over 2 years.

Re: Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
I have experienced intermittent ear pounding while on Revlimid. My ears have been checked and I am told they are fine structurally and that my hearing is "normal". What seems to mitigate the problem is when I use Flonase (fluticasone) and/or Sudafed (phenylephrine or pseudoephedrine). Nothing definitive or scientific here, but perhaps it may give some relief to someone else.
Re: Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
Hi.
I'm a new follower of this great, informative site. My mom has had ringing in her ears before multiple myeloma and it would come and go. She also has trouble with excessive wax build up in her ears, where she needs to go to a doctor to have the wax removed. Recently, after having a hip replacement (due to multiple myeloma, but we didn't know it yet), she was at a nursing facility recovering, when the bothersome ringing began again. The doctor there told her to take an allergy medication, like Claritin (loratadine), to help dry her sinuses and amazingly, it worked! Perhaps this simple treatment may help someone else.
