Re: The cost of Revlimid - what do you pay?

Confused again, or still confused, regarding Revlimid 5 mg

I currently get Revlimid through my private Humana insurance. The accompanying paper work indicates it costs $11,000 through Humana's Specialty Pharmacy.

However, Revlimid in formularies for Part D looks like it is approximately $16,000. Even Humana's Medicare Part D prescription plan is that high (5% after donut hole is over $800/month).

I don't understand the different prices between private insurance and Part D costs.

I am about to pull the trigger on selecting Medigap and a Part D carrier so I can concentrate on important stuff.
