Re: Skull lesions with multiple myeloma
Thank you. My husband (intermediate/high risk smoldering multiple myeloma) is due for spine and pelvis MRI in November, and has not had a skull MRI. He has developed a couple dimples on his forehead. Maybe we should have skull imaging added to the orders.

Re: Skull lesions with multiple myeloma
I am also 67, diagnosed January 2014. The year prior to diagnosis, I was having some back pain but also some sharp pain on my skull. It was a sharp pain like someone used a needle to just poke at my skull. It was a pain that didn't last but a millisecond. Never thought much except that work was stressful and figured it was tension. Looking back and seeing skeletal scans, it was the myeloma causing skull lesions.

Re: Skull lesions with multiple myeloma
I too have a couple of lesions in my skull. Discovering them was the first sign that I was relapsing,a week before my son's wedding. Wonderful timing, that.
The lesions themselves have never given me any grief, and nobody seems to worry about them specifically. The one on my rib got everybody all excited, and I got radiation for that, but the holes in my head? Not so much.

There is nothing about this disease that is 'standard,' I guess. We all deal with different stuff, on different levels.

Re: Skull lesions with multiple myeloma
Yes, thank you for these additional perspectives. My husband does not have pain with the ‘dimples’. For now, we’ll probably write these off as unexplained weirdnesses. But my observation from reading this forum is that myeloma can be unpredictable, and anything out of the normal is notable. The community oncologist, not a myeloma specialist, isn’t worried. We’ll see the primary myeloma specialist in February.
Happy day to all readers and warriors.
