Multiple myeloma specialist - northern New Jersey

by mulberry on Mon Apr 18, 2016 8:41 pm

Can you recommend a good doctor in northern New Jersey who specializes in multiple myeloma?

Someone recommended Dr. Siegel in Hackensack or Dr. Farber in Morristown.

Hello Mulberry:

Dr.'s Siegel and Vesole at Hackensack (John Theurer Cancer Center) I think would be clearly the top center for multiple myeloma in NJ. I have read other posters refer to other specialists that exist in NJ, but I am not aware of them personally. HUMC also has as many multiple myeloma clinical trials open as any of the major centers in NY. I understand MSKCC has a satellite office in central NJ (I think Bridgewater). You would have to look at whether any of the doctors actually practice out of that office, but you could go there for the days of treatment that you would not see the doctor, potentially. They also, I understand, will be opening up another satellite office in the near future in Bergen County. Good luck. JPC

Welcome to the forum, Mulberry, although I am sorry you have to join us.

In addition to JPC's feedback above, you may find the discussion in this earlier forum thread to be helpful:

There may be other useful threads in the forum as well. Just search on "jersey" or parts of the name of a center you are interested in (the search box works best when you just type a single keyword -- otherwise, it's best to use the advanced search function).

Good luck,
Cheryl
