I am a 88 years old male and a peritoneal dialysis patient. I would like a recommendation of a multiple myeloma specialist in central New Jersey. I live in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Multiple myeloma specialist in central New Jersey
Welcome to the forum, Lai88. Sorry you have to be here!
You have a lot of good choices for treatment centers with myeloma specialists, based on where you are.
There is the John Theurer Center in Hackensack, where there are several respected myeloma specialists. There are also several centers in New York with myeloma specialists, Sloan Kettering probably having the largest number of well known myeloma specialists. Sloan Kettering also has a satellite clinic in Bridgewater, if I'm not mistaken.
Down in Philadelphia, Penn has a number of very respected myeloma specialists.
If you need any additional guidance, just let us know.
Good luck!

Hi Lai88,
As Cheryl G said, we're sorry you need to be looking at the Beacon forum, but welcome. Hopefully this will be a good resource for you.
Cheryl has given you some very good information, but maybe can add a little more since I also live in central New Jersey.
The places Cheryl mentioned are all good, and there are people here in the Forum who are patients at each of those three centers. Memorial Sloan Kettering's NJ satellite clinic is in Basking Ridge, which is close to Bridgewater, so Cheryl was in the right ballpark on that too. They will be opening another satellite clinic in Middletown in 2016.
I think Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick also has some oncologists who treat multiple myeloma, as that is another place that my local hematologist / oncologist recommended that I consider.
If you are considering myeloma centers in New York City, you might also look into Mt. Sinai Hospital, as they have at least one well-known myeloma specialist on their staff.
I am being treated at MSK and am very pleased with the treatment and care I receive there.
Feel free to private message me if you could use more information.
Best wishes to you. Please let us know what decision you make and how things go.
Mike
