Re: Larry's Stem Cell Transplant

Andy et al,

Thanks for the info! The throbbing pain has subsided significantly today.

My stem cell count went from 2.3 yesterday to 11.6 today! So I will be going for collection tomorrow, and, yes, I expect it to be very much non dramatic.

The other thing that happened today was that my hair seemed to be coming out rather easily. So I figured it was time to get a buzz cut. Got it down to around 1/4 of an inch [0.6 cm] for now.

Fun fun fun.

Andy, special thanks to you for your advice, considering where you are in the process. Hope all is well.

Hi Everyone,

The collection went well. They wanted to collect 12 million cells, but my cells apparently mobilized so well that they were able to collect 23 million!

Otherwise, uneventful.

Regards,

Larry

Hi all,

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Tomorrow, August 12, I will start the stem cell transplant process. I am to be there at 8:30 am. So tomorrow is Day -2, the cells will be returned to their rightful owner on Thursday, Day Zero.

I will do my best to post here on my progress.

Take care.

Larry

I've been "silently" following your postings here, Larry, but I admit that I had forgotten that you were so close to your transplant. I'm glad that you posted the update, and I'm even happier that all the preparations went well and you apparently avoided any serious speed bumps along the way.

I hope everything goes well tomorrow and that the next two weeks or so do not put you through the wringer too much.

Good luck!!

Jonah

Good luck to ya Fella.

Take a deep breath, .....and take the Nestea Plunge!~

As you have seen by others here--it is not always easy to post re progress / events thru the STC Process.

Just take care of yourself---and get well.!

Good luck.
