Hi Kim,

Pleased to hear everything is going well and love your pets!

Going for transplant September 9 and know I will miss my cat and dog as they are my new besties during the day while everyone is working.

Keep up the good work -- you're amazing!

It is Day +8. I am still going strong.

I've had some more rice and soup and that seems to be working out OK. I'm keeping it to a minimum. My stomach can't handle every much and I have no appetite.

Last night after running my lab work, my hemoglobin was low enough to require a blood transfusion. It went well and I had no adverse reactions.

I am feeling really good so I rode the exercise bike for 45 minutes.

I should probably be going stir crazy by now, but I have had just enough going on to keep me busy and entertained. I had mentally prepared myself for this for so long, and I think that has made a difference in my outlook on things.

The nurses and doctors here could not be better. This is great place to be!

Oh, I forgot to mention ...

Good luck to Jen and Suzi's husband. I hope their upcoming transplants go as well as mine has gone so far!

Hi Kim.

I can't believe you rode 45 minutes on the exercycle! That is amazing, but I am very glad you are coming through this so smoothly! Maybe the fact that you have been an athlete for many years is helping your body bounce back faster than usual. I have never heard of anyone doing that.

Kim - you continue to amaze me! I do believe your training as an athlete has made a difference for you, although I know everyone reacts differently to SCTs.

LOVE your animals :-) We "only" have 4 cats ... what is it about companion animals that puts a smile on everyone's face?

May you continue to do well and have a successful SCT.

Day + 10. Just when you think I'm amazing, I've been completely run over by a truck.

During the night I developed a fever. It's been a rough day. But I'm hanging in there.

They said it is very common to have an infection when your counts are down. They are running cultures. I still had several friends visit today ... like 7. They made me feel better. I'll get through it.

I also felt like I had been run over by a truck during my stem cell transplant in July 2013. I spent 19 days in the hospital and 5 months on the couch before returning to work full time. At my +100 day check up, however, I was in complete remission.

I pray that on your +100 day you also achieve CR. I had a fever while in the hospital because I had MRSA. I celebrated my first birthday on July 19, 2014, something that you will want to also do. I know that might sound like a long time from now, but it really does go fast. I will pray that all goes well with you. :D
