Re: How often do you see your oncologist?
I'm in remission and not on any treatment currently. I see my oncologist every three months.

Re: How often do you see your oncologist?
When I was first diagnosed in 2006 and stared chemo, I saw him at least once a week and then I ended up in hospital because I started having horrendous side effects. Saw a lot of him then LOL
Once I was back on my feet, I only had to have a blood test every 3 months then 6 months as my count was low. The chemo and then flatlining a couple of times and going into intensive care and then skin grafts (long story) all helped to whack the myeloma into the stratosphere.
After a couple of years my count was creeping up and then it had the magic number which meant more chemo.
I have had 5 cycles of chemo over 10 years and have never finished the 4 months as everything goes pear shaped.
I now see my oncologist every 3 months - next visit is February. Bit apprehensive, as my last results showed I had reached the magic number for treatment.
My poor oncologist said I am his most challenging patient

Leslie, a bit off topic, I noticed you live in the Channel Islands. Do you have to travel to the UK (or, dare I say, France) for your specialist appointments, or is there a haematologist in Jersey / Guernsey for you to see?
