Hello,
I wanted to see if anyone has had gout in the hand with multiple myeloma and taking Revlimid.

Re: Gout with multiple myeloma (Revlimid related?)
Hi cgrundy,
You may want to check the postings in this discussion here in the forum:
https://myelomabeacon.org/forum/gout-after-multiple-myeloma-diagnosis-t2633.html
Also, this study published in 2010 indicates that gout is sometimes one of the symptoms of myeloma seen in newly diagnosed myeloma patients:
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2152265011700477
(G. Talamo et al, Beyond the CRAB Symptoms: A Study of Presenting Clinical Manifestations of Multiple Myeloma, Clinical Lymphoma Myeloma and Leukemia, Volume 10, Issue 6, December 2010, Pages 464–468)
The abstract for this article is generally interesting because it mentions that neuropathy is the most frequently seen non "CRAB" symptom seen in the newly diagnosed myeloma patients included in the study.
It's been pointed out before in the forum that neuropathy can actually be a symptom of myeloma, but it's useful to have some actual data on the subject. (Sorry, we can't find the full text of the article available anywhere for free.)

Re: Gout with multiple myeloma (Revlimid related?)
My patient/ex husband developed gout for the first time just days after starting Revlimid. Has ended up suffering 1-2 bouts every single month ever since??
