Darzalex patent dispute & availability of the drug
Does the patent fight going on over Darzalex (see Genmab press release from yesterday) impact the availability of this drug to us patients who are being treated with it?

Re: Darzalex patent dispute & availability of the drug
I think it is very unlikely that availability will be affected any time soon. As noted in the release, appeals will be happening. This is typical in patent disputes where the losing side keeps appealing until both parties agree to settle. The only time to worry, usually, is when an injunction is issued preventing sale of the patent infringers product. However, occasionally that company will stop of its own accord because it has concluded that it is going to lose and have to give up profits from past and future sales.

Re: Darzalex patent dispute & availability of the drug
"Patents asserted against Janssen Biotech, Inc. & Genmab in the United States have been declared invalid by summary judgment"
The above is the headline from the article you cited. The named companies are the ones responsible for the manufacture and distribution of Darzalex in the US. Since they won, nothing should change.

Re: Darzalex patent dispute & availability of the drug
Just so that everyone knows, the three companies involved in the Darzalex patent dispute – MorphoSys, Janssen, and Genmab – have agreed to a settlement ending the litigation. Here is the announcement from Genmab regarding the settlement, and here is the related announcement from MorphoSys, the company that initiated the lawsuite against Janssen and Genmab.
