Thanks, eh, for a Canadian perspective Nancy. I’m in Squamish, BC, with treatments out of Vancouver but, thankfully, weekly infusions right here in Squamish.

Re: Canada & multiple myeloma
Hi Janice,
It was good of Irene to start this thread! I try to add in any information I get pertaining to provincial or national updates.
It's good to know that you can get weekly infusions at a centre in Squamish, even though the Sea to Sky Highway in to Vancouver is one beautiful drive!
Wishing you good luck as you progress through the myeloma journey, and please keep us posted as to how things are going. Sorry to hear that your hip required surgery though.

Thank you Nancy, and you're right: the Sea to Sky is beautiful, but the crap shoot of getting across Lionsgate is less attractive.

Quebec - Revlimid (lenalidomide) is now available as a first line treatment for transplant-ineligible patients, and also as a second line treatment now modified to allow access regardless of Velcade exposure.

Kyprolis is Now Covered in Alberta - It is nice to announce that now Alberta is funding Kyprolis (carfilzomib) for patients who have received one to three prior lines of treatment. The drug can be used in combination with Revlimid (lenalidomide) and dexamethasone or dexamethasone alone.

Darzalex (daratumumab) is now funded in Alberta and Quebec
Following the conclusion of a pricing agreement which sets a price nationally, concluded just this month, the provinces of Alberta and Quebec have listed Darzalex on their provincial formularies.
Quebec: Darzalex can be used in combination with Revlimid (lenalidomide) and Dexamethasone, or in combo with Velcade (bortezomib) after one or more relapse.
Alberta: In Alberta, Darzalex (daratumumab) in combination with Revlimid (lenalidomide) and dexamethasone or Velcade (bortezomib) and dexamethasone is covered under a "Short Term Director's Privilege" which is a form that permits the use of the drug while the official listing is being finalized.
There are more details available in the provinces' Health Care departments.
