Yes! Had kidney failure, needed dialysis for about a week (every few days), also started on CyBorD. 6 months later, kidneys have improved to 42+% functionality.

My nephrologist is quick to point out that age decreases kidney function and that my GFR is not as bad as it appears from a disease standpoint.

Do you know where your mom's kidney function was at prior to diagnosis?

Keri (Koalad) originally posted an introduction in this discussion thread, describing how she has recovered after experiencing complete kidney failure in 2008 -- the condition that led to her multiple myeloma diagnosis.

We thought, however, that the posting might fit better in the "Member Introductions / Personal Stories" section of the forum, so we've moved it there. However, it is definitely relevant to this discussion as well, so those who are interested can read the posting at this link:

"Diagnosed in 2008 after complete kidney failure," Beacon forum discussion started September 11, 2014.
