Hi MSO
Sorry to hear about your imaging results. What process did they use to find the Lesions on your Ribs? I have only had X-rays on my ribs as I have been told they can't get "good" pics of the Ribs with other imaging processes.
Thanks and Best Wishes

Re: Bone Pain And Smoldering Myeloma
I have MGUS with aggressive osteoporosis. I've had rib cage pain for at least 12 years and one rib fracture (all before diagnosis). I began treatment with bisphosphonates about 10 months ago, and now rarely have bone pain. Still a twinge in one clavicle and the occasional ache in the old place in ribs. Onc tells me it's just normal aches and pains of getting older. [???] I've only had skeletal survey, no other imaging.

Hi Art,
My lesions showed up during the skeletal survey (flat Xrays). These were taken at the Cancer Center so I do believe the radiologist knew exactly what he was looking for, whereas my Primary doc a few months earlier didn't see anything. In the research I've done and per Dr. Libbys response it seems that MRI is the most precise in detecting these legions. Definetly my preference.
Take Care and stay strong!

Re: Bone Pain And Smoldering Myeloma
Yep, bone and rib pain is rife here in Australia but due to trials on Revlimid, specialists are ignoring the medical conditions and writing reports forthwith.
My multiple myeloma has been treated with Rev but some 7 months into treatment, rib and spinal spasms presented. Little help from doctors came forward and the head scratching was unbelievable but I knew what it was.....Rev.
To this day, my world renowned hospital don't want to talk on it....schedule Rev for another 21 days and go home......it's arthritis....my goldfish it's arthritis!!!!
