Thank you, everyone, for all the wonderful comments about Arnie.

We've included a link to this forum thread in the full news article we published earlier today about Arnie's passing: "Remembering Arnold Goodman."

We hope that members of Arnie's family, as well as friends and close acquaintances, will at some point have a chance to see everything that all of you have written here. It will give them an even better sense of what Arnie meant to our community.

Arnold's obituary also is now available online here.

I was so very sad to hear of Arnie's passing. My husband loved his columns best because Dr. Goodman's and my husband's multiple myeloma journeys were so very similar -- their responses to different multiple myeloma treatments, and especially with Pomalyst, but also similar because they were both fighters, no matter what was thrown into their paths.

Even though we never met Dr. Goodman, we always included him in our prayers. My husband was diagnosed 5 months earlier than Dr. Goodman, and he passed away a few months ago.

I send his family and the staff at the Myeloma Beacon my condolences and prayers. Dr. Goodman inspired so many multiple myeloma patients on their journeys with his wonderful words.

I'm saddened to hear of Dr. Goodman's passing. I enjoyed reading his column over the last couple of years. Having someone who had been on the other side of the equation of patient / doctor added a special view to living with myeloma and working through all of the ups and downs of the various treatments that he pursued. Even when it was apparent that he was coming to the end of the possibilities of treatment I felt his hope come through, but also his realization that maybe the myeloma could no longer be controlled.

I will miss reading of his journey. Much love to his family and friends. Also, much love to all of us who continue to live with myeloma. May we all move along our paths with the grace that Dr. Goodman did.

I have lost a very special person in Dr. Arnie! I came to own my cancer, and become a better advocate in dealing with multiple myeloma because of him.

We have many great writers at the Beacon, and all are special in their own ways, but he was the one who taught me how to deal with multiple myeloma.

My sincere condolences to his family at home and the Beacon. We all face the same future, but hopefully we will better for having known Arnold Goldman and the others who lead us through multiple myeloma with their writings at the Beacon!

God Bless us all and Arnie.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Goodman's passing. It feels strange to be so touched by the loss of someone you never met. I'm sure it has much to do with his writing, and also the reminder that this disease is not yet curable. Hopefully his legacy here will be that his writing will live on to help educate those of us who first have to google "multiple myeloma". Our prayers to his family during this difficult time.

Our condolences to his family and friends as they grieve their loss. Arnie was a terrific, reasoned, informative member of the myeloma community. We are grateful for all he brought to bear in charting a course and taking the myeloma journey, one step and one day at a time.

I was remembering Dr. Goodman today and all the wonderful things he taught us. His articles provided me with a wide variety of information on all different topics that affect multiple myeloma patients. I have been strengthened by his insights. I loved his scientific and logical thought process. I know his family misses him greatly.

Thank you, Dr. Goodman, for what you have provided to all of us who use Myeloma Beacon. You have helped me to find my way along the pathway of multiple myeloma treatment. Reading your articles has taught me that my prognosis is so much different than yours. I will be grateful for what has been provided to me, and I will not waste what has been provided to me.

Thank you to the Myeloma Beacon for providing this resource, and thank you to Dr. Goodman.
