When I was diagnosed at 65, I was told I was a young multiple myeloma sufferer. It has been many years since anyone has called me young.
Now at almost 68 I am getting ready with Revlimid for three months for a stem cell transplant at Mayo in August. I went through Velcade and a one year remission. Now with things rising again the transplant is recommended.
I live in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, God's country. My husband is my caregiver and the best. Oh, he gets a little impatient once in a while. Who wouldn't with a spouse off and on sick for many years, because, of course we all know, this thing has been dragging us down for years before we knew what was going on in our bodies. Anyway, he's the best and I love him.
Looking forward to reading all the stories and getting some discussions going.

Thanks for sharing your story. Blessings to you as move forward with your treatment. Sometimes I believe that this disease is as tough on the caregivers as it is on the patients- just in different ways. Our best to him as well.
And you are right, the Upper Peninsula is a beautiful place!
68 is the new 39!
