Wondering if I have multiple myeloma

Hello all,

I am not diagnosed yet, but I seem to have a lot of the symptoms and some signs.

I was referred to a neurologist at Loyola for tingling I'm my hands, feet, and face. My local neurologist says it's not MS our anything he normally treats. This neurologist says I present a different kind of case.

My symptoms are tingling in feet, hands, and face. Soreness in left shoulder which goes from mild to moderate. Soreness in toe of left foot. When I sit, my back gets really warm. My left ribs get sore from time to time. I am severely fatigued most of the time. My calcium had been mildly high when my primary physician has checked it.

While I didn't have any real weakness when this neurologist made me do the stupid human tricks, I do have it matter in the day. My 17 year old son takes the heavy stuff up and down the stairs for me. I have poor balance. My vision goes blurry and sometimes double.

This new neurologist has ordered some bloodwork which I found through Dr. Google is to check for myeloma. I am kind of worried now. I feel I have suffered bouts of depression the last few years and put my wife through a lot.

Has anyone else had these signs and symptoms prior to diagnosis?

I must add that five and a half years ago I hit a deer on my motorcycle. I broke all the ribs on my left side, my collar bone, and my left shoulder blade. So maybe the pain in my ribs and foot are from that accident.

But all of this drives me up a wall. And my poor wife is awesome at being there for me.

Ask to have labs drawn for an M spike. Multiple myeloma is pretty easy to find if your looking for it.

They drew labs for copper, immunofixation serum, immunoglobins, miscellaneous labs, and methylmalonic acid.

I am really hoping the only issue is with the methylmalonic acid and / or the copper.
