Well, she just left to do her test. I offered several times to come with her, but she wants / needs me there for the results.
I appreciate everyone's insight on this and realize that my situation is not unique.
I suppose, at the risk of sounding offensive, that once we get the results, I'll have no further use for this site.
But, once again, I appreciate the input and stories - I wish you all the best.

Re: Wife may have myeloma - next steps?
Well, figured I'd let everyone know that we got the results of the PET scan today, and she is free and clear of multiple myeloma. They said they noticed something on her ovary that she'll need to follow up with the OB/GYN on, and she'll still continue to have her MGUS monitored by her oncologist, but that was probably the best phone call that I've ever received.
Again, thank you for everyone's words of encouragement and support, and I will still frequent this board as it is a great resource. I think I might even look into donating stem cells to help those that have this cancer.
Thank you again.

dvdauthority - That's excellent news!
I've been following this thread, but I saw that you were in very capable hands in terms of the advice you were getting. So I decided not to dip my toe into the discussion. I couldn't resist saying something, however, once I saw your update.
I'll be hoping that your wife's MGUS remains stable indefinitely.
Thanks for the update.
