Re: Why isn't MGUS treated? Why wait for it to progress?

Hello again,

You are correct, the involved Immunoglobulin for the M-spike is IgG, light chain is kappa. I asked this because your IgG is low and mine was as well during the MGUS phase. I was sick with chronic infection (mostly sinus, ears, urinary) due to low "normal" IgG and suppression of IgM. I just wanted to comment so you know that can mean a higher risk of progression.

Next time you post, be sure to include your bone marrow plasma cell percentage, your M-spike and your total protein, as well as the results of your immunofixation. Good luck at your appointment.
