Hi suzierose,
Your posting was moved to the thread about ASH 2011 presentations and posters. Here is the new link:
https://myelomabeacon.org/forum/ash-2011-annual-meeting-multiple-myeloma-t692-10.html#p3129
Staff here at The Beacon regularly review the forum postings, for a variety of reasons.
One is to weed out any spam that makes it past the Beacon's spam filters.
Another is to make sure that postings are otherwise appropriate in terms of content and tone. For example, we try to nip flame wars in the bud before they get too serious. We also occasionally make edits to postings to improve their readability and ensure they conform to our posting guidelines.
Finally, we check to see whether new threads might better be appended to existing threads. Your posting about an ASH 2011 abstract fit into that category.
Any posting that is moved is still visible in the "Recent Activity" window on the right after it is moved. And moved postings also show up in relevant email digests. So moving really has no effect on the visibility of the posting other than making it part of an existing thread.
Hope that explains things a bit!

One of my posts was deleted as well.... it was a list of diseases (Multiple Myeloma included) that the government admits to being linked to Agent Orange Exposure. (with is my husband's situation).
Was that, too, moved? Or deleted?
Thanks.
Nan

No, your posting doesn't seem to have been moved. I think it was deleted.
I can't remember the details of the case, but I believe the issue was that the posting was simply a link to (or duplicate of) a recent posting in your blog.
In fact, if I'm not mistaken, the forum posting you made occurred at exactly the same time your blog posting was on the first page of our blog aggregator ( https://myelomabeacon.org/blog-posts/ ).
We normally don't think it serves forum readers well when postings have just a link and nothing else. There should at least be some explanation as to why the link might be of interest to readers of the forum.
Better yet, the posting should summarize the interesting content that's located at the link, and then provide the link in case people want more details.
Also, if the purpose of a posting with a link is mainly promotional -- to get readers to go to another website or webpage -- that's also that doesn't really seem to be in the best interest of the forum readers.
Hope that clarifies things, Nan.
Thanks for checking in, and all the best to you and Dom. I saw recently that Dom's latest lab results came back with lots of great news. Congratulations!
