At 52, whose back doesn’t bother them, right? Well, mine suddenly got worse, reminded me of PE blood clots I suffered nearly 25 years ago. So I went to the hospital ... and was diagnosed with Stage 3 multiple myeloma.
That was April 24. I was a normal, active, relatively healthy guy with a sore back. Today it’s June 4, and I’m all but confined to bed with fractures to my vertebrae, sternum, and ribs.
Brutal.

Re: What just happened?!
Welcome to the forum, Darth, but I'm sorry you have to be here, and I'm also sorry about the fractures you've experienced and how they have limited your mobility.
This link will take you to previous forum discussions related to fractures. Perhaps some of them will be helpful to you.
You also can find a long list of potentially helpful forum searches in this post, which is always at the top of the "Treatments & Side Effects" part of the forum.
Good luck!

Re: What just happened?!
Welcome to the club nobody wants to belong to. Two years ago at age 59 I went to my doctor for back pain that wasn't responding to my at-home treatment. Next thing I knew I was diagnosed with compression fractures in two thoracic vertebrae. A diagnosis of myeloma came not too long after. I underwent a kyphoplasty (where they put cement in your vertebrae to stabilize them), which helped tremendously with the pain.
My advice is to just take it a day at a time. It's a big emotional hit, so get help dealing with that if you need it. My treatment center had a social worker who checked on me periodically. The Beacon is a great source of information and encouragement, so stay in touch.
