Welcome to another edition of The Myeloma Beacon’s “Weekly Poll”. This week’s question is about participation in clinical trials.
A few clarifications:
First, this question is intended for readers who have active multiple myeloma, smoldering multiple myeloma, or MGUS.
Second, when we say "multiple myeloma-related clinical trial," we mean a clinical trial that either tests a treatment for myeloma or MGUS, tests a treatment for symptoms or side effects commonly experienced by myeloma or MGUS patients, or tracks the progression of any of these diseases.
Third, if you are a caregiver of a myeloma or MGUS patient, please answer on behalf of the patient you care for.
Once you have answered the question above, feel free to post comments, thoughts, or feedback in the space below. They can be very useful to other readers.

Re: Weekly Poll - Would You Participate In A Clinical Trial?
I would absolutely participate. I considered the NIH MGUS Natural History trial, but I live in No Calif, and the logistics of travel to Bethesda were just to much for me. I'm on the lookout for a trial that I can participate in that is closer to my home.

I am currently taking part in the NIH natural history trial for SMM. But i would also participate in a Drug trial if/when I progress. Especially if it involved Carfilzomib.
