Re: Weekly Poll - Cycles Of Initial Therapy - Vd/VD - 2014

by Marilyn F on Fri May 16, 2014 7:34 pm

I was initially told I'd probably need four cycles of Velcade plus dex to get my light chains numbers low enough for transplant. After three cycles, the numbers were going down in a lazy sort of way, so the doctor added in Revlimid. This made me miserable, made my light chain numbers shoot way up, and put my kidneys into distress. Needless to say, it was time to try something else.

My daughter had 5 months of Velcade/dex which put her in complete remission. It also gave her an irregular heartbeat which postponed her stem cell transplant by 2 months until they got heart meds.
