VRE colonisation prior to ASCT

by Niki on Fri Mar 07, 2014 5:12 pm

Hello everybody,

I found out that i have a Vancomysin resistant enterococcus VanA. Thats exactly prior to my transplant. Is it something serious that should make me think again about the transplant?

Best regards
Niki

Tough question. I am not sure I have used the term "colonization" with a VRE. If it is present, that is pathologic and should be treated unless there is more to this story.
