That is a great result from an unconventional approach. Very exciting!

What is her daily dosage of Venclexta?

Tomorrow marks the beginning of Cycle 9. Since my last update, I just have a couple of updates regarding my ongoing fatigue and the management of it.

My myeloma specialist and I decided to try stopping the dexamethasone on Kyprolis (carfilzomib) infusion day and monitor my response. My response was chills, nausea, and the need to go to bed until the following day. Needless to say, we added it back right for the following cycle.

After discussing this with my treatment team, my palliative care doctor had an interesting idea. Since the fatigue was causing me to nod off several times a day and resulted in my insomnia that night, he suggested using Adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine mixed salts) conservatively during the day to stop me from falling asleep uncontrollably.

This was a stroke of genius as I have renewed energy during the day and I am sleeping much better at night.

Best! BN

My infusion last Friday went well and was uneventful.

There is, however, an update to my medication. After many years of taking Miralax (polyethylene glycol 3350), and now I’m needing a stimulant to keep things moving, my palliative care doctor suggested replacing both with a morning 145 mcg capsule of Linzess (linaclotide, Constella). Again another good call, since my bowel movements are now controlled and regular.
