Hi all,
Just to update, my dad has lost his battle against the cancer yesterday morning. Before he passed, he was in extreme fatigue and weakness, his hemoglobin was decreasing each day, and his platelet count too (he was on his 2nd cycles of Velcade in the middle of August). Doctor said some liquid found in his lungs, bleeding (his feces black in colour) and before he was sent to intensive care unit he experienced difficulty in breathing. He passes away peacefully while given breathing ventilator.
My father fought hard this battle. It was a roller coaster ride for him and our family mentally and physically. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dearest dad, but part of me is glad that he no longer needs to suffer.
He did a bone marrow biopsy the day before and his results came up that his myeloma was becoming something else (I don't know the medical term for it).
Fighting this disease is definitely not easy, especially in a developing country like Indonesia. For those of you who live in a more advanced country, consider yourself fortunate that the medical field is more updated, the cancer community shows tremendous support, and there is financial support for healthcare from the government.
I pray for all of you who are still fighting this cancer. May your journey be smooth and God give you strength, endurance, and inner peace while fighting this disease. Thank you.

Re: What are the worst side effects of Velcade?
Hi Tina.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Losing a loved one is a very hard and long road. But I am sure, across the multiple myeloma community, that there are a million thoughts and prayers going out to you and your family right now.
