Any other anti nausea drugs. I seem to remember when I had my SCT ,zofran, but I seem to recall it didn't really help.

Velcade and nausea
I could use some help. I had my first Velcade shot last Wednesday. Everything was fine. Felt fine til Sunday when I felt a little nauseous . Not much but I noticed it. Fast forward to Monday and ,boy, I'm curled up on the couch feeling really really nauseous . Is this typical? I took an Ativan before bed but still felt pretty awful. Is this going to pass or be a weekly thing. Or is it my body getting adjusted to Velcade. I really need this treatment to work ,so I hope it's a passing thing.

Re: Velcade and nausea
Hi Christina,
Im just about to finish a 16 week Velcade treatment, Ive been dealing with the nausea reasonably well until the last couple of treatments. Ive been uding zofran twice daily on treatment day and the day after as well as another anti nausea drug called Pramin on the days after when needed.
The pramin works well but does make you tired so I try to use it at the end of the day.
Hang in there I hope this helps

Re: Velcade and nausea
thanks Stu,
my doctor called in Zofran and said to take it tomorrow before the Velcade. I just didn't quite expect to be wiped out by the nausea, so hopefully I can get a handle on it.

Re: Velcade and nausea
Great news, Christina!
After I replied I also remembered ginger is a great way to help with the nausea. Although I don't think it would be strong enough by itself for the level of nausea you seem to be getting, it would be worth adding it to the arsenal and see if it adds any extra relief.
Good luck
