Hello, I have a question about M-spikes and pregnancy.
When I was 2 months pregnant, my OB accidentally ordered a 24-hour urine protein electrophoresis instead of a total protein. To my surprise, it came back with an M-spike. I haven't found much information about false positives and I'm wondering if it was a false positive due to pregnancy, or possibly the fact that I had shingles at the time as well.
My SPEP was negative as well as serum IFE. I had a repeat 24-hour UPEP after the baby was born and it was negative. I canceled my follow-up appointment with the oncologist, but now I'm wondering if I should follow up every so often.

Re: M-spike on 24-hour urine test during pregnancy
To be on the safe side, I would call the oncologist back and make an appointment with him / her just to rule out MGUS or other related illnesses.
