Understanding FISH test results

by Rink on Sun Oct 26, 2014 9:51 pm

Trying to understand the FISH test, done last year. Have been going through treatments since multiple myeloma diagnosis.

I have CCND1/IGH rearrangement @ 10%. If I am correct, this means a rearrangement of 11q13 and14q32 chromosomes. My question is: Is this the same as a translocation?

Also, I have a copy loss of p53 at 17p13 @ 11% and a copy gain of IGH(14q32) @ 8%. Not sure what this means, but assume this means my chromosome 17 did not copy the p53 protein in 11% of chromosomes checked and I gained a duplicate of the IGH(14q32) in 8% of the chromosomes checked?

Please tell me if I am correct in these assumptions.

Thanks,
Rink

Other results (these are good things):
No deletions of 17p13, 13Q14, 13q34 or loss of chromosome 13
No gain of chromosome 5,9
No deletion of 1p32 or gain of 1q21.2
