Re: Unconventional methods treating multiple myeloma

Several existing non-myeloma-related drugs are shown to have significant effect on myeloma progression:

Beta blockers

Statins

Both of these classes of drugs are well tolerated.

Hey there,

I thought I would weigh in as I have just been diagnosed with IgG multiple myeloma.

Four years ago, I became a vegan, actually following a "whole food plant-based diet," eating mostly organic food, walking 45- 90 minutes a day. I am a very happy and energetic person and cannot believe this new diagnosis.

I very rarely take medication, not even aspirin, but have decided to do as the doctor is prescribing, as my whole food plant-based diet has not seemed to protect me from this disease.

I will continue with the whole food plant-based diet but unfortunately, at least in my case, it will only be another bullet in my holster, not the cure, nor did it arrest the disease.

Just wanted to add to this discussion.

I'm going through conventional methods because my bone marrow was compromised at 90%. My thought is that after I'm through with this treatment I will then implement unconventional treatments like CBD, turmeric, b12, etc.

I am also vegan and was diagnosed. My opinion is it’s probably in the genes and it doesn’t really matter what your diet is. However, I still believe a vegan diet is best because it protects you from other problems.

All my blood work was phenomenal and just my protein was an issue when I was diagnosed. They were shocked. So it’s possible that the diet in a sense may have helped. I also will be doing conventional and unconventional at the same time.
