Typical post stem cell transplant WBC numbers?

Just curious as to what some of your post stem cell transplant WBC numbers were.

My husband's are climbing, but slowly. On Day +12 he was at 0.3, Day +13 jumped to 0.4, and today (Day +14) up to 0.7.

I know it is good he is climbing up but this waiting is hard. Any words of encouragement would be great.

When the cell numbers begin to rise, they start out slowly and then - Poof - they jump quite a bit in one day. How are his other cell numbers recovering? Is the doctor and/or nurse concerned?

Keep hanging in there. Some people are slower to recover than others, but it usually happens.

Of course every individual is different. I had an allogeneic SCT on May 21, 2014. Here is what my counts were:

Day +1 through day +7, WBC was <.01
Day 8, WBC was .2
Day 9, WBC was 1.3
Day 10, WBC was 6.5

On June 12, CMV (cytomegalovirus virus ) was detected. I was started on Valcyte [valganciclovir] which drove WBC down to 2.6.

My husband saw 0.3 on Day 11, then 1.3 Day 12 and 4.0 on Day 13.

I hope your WBC count returns to normal very soon.

Question, is "Granix" [tbo-filgrastim, similar to Neupogen] injections being given to stimulate WBC counts?
