My boyfriend has about 12 tumors on his back and at least 5 in his stomach area. He is now 78 days post stem cell transplant (SCT). Biopsy was done on one tumor today, but no one is really telling us anything. Anyone have this?
Back to doctor on Tuesday, but results won't be in for two weeks. Other than the tumors, everything looks fine. He feels good. No increased pain. Blood work looks good.

Re: Tumors popping up everywhere (day 78 post transplant)
These are tumors that aren't on or in his bones, but rather in his tissues? I imagine you will get the biopsy results fairly quickly so that you won't have to guess at this.

MRI not done yet. But as far as we know, all are in tissue. Look like golf balls sticking out of his skin. They are holding off on MRI till biopsy back and they know for sure what it is.

On his back most are around his spine. There are two that are off to the side. On the front, one is over the lower rib section, while the rest are over the stomach area.

Re: Tumors popping up everywhere (day 78 post transplant)
Hi Terrilynn,
I had skull plasmacytomas pop up at about 60 days post transplant. My proteins are up a little but overall I'm doing well. Just finished 5 days of radiation on the skull. Also, they switched me from Velcade, Revlimid, dex to Kyprolis, Pomalyst and dex. One plasmacytoma is almost gone, but another is quite prevalent.
Myeloma is so weird and we all seem to get our own version.
I'll be interested to hear what your doctors say. I hope everything goes smoothly and they have a good plan to proceed. That's good that your boyfriend feels good.

Thanks. Sorry to hear you had to go through that but so grateful to hear you made it through it. He is panicking. I am trying to stay optimistic. Thank God for this site. I really don't know what I would have done without all of you.
