Re: Treatment for relapse after VTD & stem cell transplant?
Hello again TPT,
Actually, after nine months, my counts came down to the levels I stated, but I still continued with the strong Revlimid and dexamethasone combination until September 2016! At that point I abruptly quit the regimen because I had to take treatment for another cancer. I have not required myeloma treatment since then, but am carefully monitored by blood work.
Also, previous to my relapse, at the five year marker of my myeloma journey, I had enjoyed 3 1/2 years away from treatment. But prior to that I had one year of lower-dose Revlimid after a stem cell transplant and induction therapy with Velcade and dexamethasone. So in nine years I have been on treatments for about half of the time.
Hope that helps!
