I am Omer from Pakistan.
My mother age 64 diagnosed with multiple myeloma in early july 2012. Bortezomib is not so common drug in Pakistan. Hematologist in Pakiatan recommended 6 cycles of thalidomide + dexamethasone. She has no co morbidity. As per doctor, ASCT can be a good option depending on the treatment response. Recent bone marrow aspirate shows remission (2% plasma cells) while trephine biopsy shows partial remission. Serum immunofixation shows no signs of monoclonal gammopathy while urine immunofixation shows that findings are consistant with lambada light chain.
B-2 microglobulin is 2.27 mg/L while normal value range is 0.97-2.64
All recent reports including complete blood picture are attached. Her creatinine is in normal range. Her T7 vertebra is collapsed however no signs of pain. She performs all her daily functions by herself. Recently she feels nausea, vomiting feeling and decreased appetite.
Kindly review the attached reports as in Pakistan we don’t have available any multiple myeloma specialist.
Kind regards
Omer
