My wife was diagnosed with multiple myeloma last October. Since then, she has been receiving duplet treatment, namely Velcade and dexamethasone. Her liver is not able to withstand Revlimid or thalidomide, as her liver enzymes just shoot through the roof every time she took either medicine.
Luckily, her cancer index dropped by 80% in spite of only doublet treatment.
However, she is stuck in this phase for 2 months with transplant seeming miles away as the cancer cell count refuses to drop further.
Last week she started to try cyclophosphamide and her liver again refuses to take that.
Am therefore hoping to see if anyone can shed some light on this. Many thanks.
Alan.
