Re: Another transplant at relapse - is it out of favor?

Hi Mark,

I read your post, and would like to use some of the information. If I show your text to other people to discuss the options, I would like to be able to explain the background.

Are you a myeloma specialist?

Best regards

Hi Lev,

I am not a myeloma specialist. That is way over my pay grade! I must say that the doctors and advanced prescribing nurses and all the staff I have met at my transplant / cancer center are some of the most amazing people I ever met.

I actually had very aggressive disease, so I had a lot of time to read about the disease at diagnosis and my doctor has an unbelievable ability to explain complex issues to her patients.

Is there anything you would like me to try and provide, such as a link to a peer reviewed study from what I wrote? Doctors like it when you can take a peer reviewed paper that shows what you are discussing when you meet with them.

Hi Mark,

I would of course like to read peer reviewed studies on myeloma. So if you have some interesting links that are not available here at The Myeloma Beacon, or PDF documents that are OK to publish, I and others will probably like to have a chance to read them.

Best regards,

Lev

Diagnosis in 2003, first auto transplant in 2004, relapse in 2008, second auto transplant in 2009, appear to be relapsing again now. So it looks like I got a good 4+ years out of each transplant.
