Hi, I'm on Revlimid as a maintenance for about 16 months now. The dose is up and down, between 10 & 5 mg. Depends on my platelet count and my ANC. I have some fatigue and issues with diarrhea and constipation.
Lately, I started to feel tingling and numb in my face. I just want to know if anyone has the same problem I have.

Re: Tingling and a little numb in the face while on Revlimid
Revlimid does have a low incidence of neuropathy, though typically this would be numbness or tingling in the feet or hands. I have not seen facial numbness with Revlimid.
I would discuss this with your oncologist to get a thorough neurologic examination, check labs (sometimes low calcium can cause numbness around the lips), assess for any viral infections (shingles can sometimes affect the nerves in the face), and decide if any imaging studies of the skull / maxillofacial area are needed to make sure there's nothing affecting the cranial nerves.

Thank you Dr. Cohen.
I told my doctor about this but, because it's mild right now, they just watch and see if it'll get worst before starting anything further. I had this symptom before when I was on my initial treatment with 25 mg Revlimid. It went away by itself, now it's started again.

Re: Tingling and a little numb in the face while on Revlimid
I have only been on the drug for 4 months now, but I have had some neuropathy around my lips since starting it. Mine is predominately on my left side and tends to change intensity depending on where I'm at in the cycle. I'm certainly sympathetic to the other side effects. I have not had any tingling however,
I was left with some neuropathy in the finger tips of my left hand after Velcade and that has also intensified a little on Revlimid.

Re: Tingling and a little numb in the face while on Revlimid
Hi Kaew, I did also have tingling on the left lower face and chin area. This has mostly subsided t since I am not taking any chemo drugs at this time. It was just a minor neuropathy, I think.
However, if it were to get worse, or get to be painful, it could possibly be a plasmacytoma, which is a serious issue. So I would definitely document it with the oncologist, and monitor it.

Nancy and Wayne,
I also have a burning sensation on both of my legs (calves). My doctor said I have neuropathy from melaphan (from when I had my ASCT) and Revlimid.
Best wishes to both of you.

I also have some of the same, consistently in my left leg and not so much in my right. An MRI, however, points to some spinal problems in the lumbar that are probably a result of age and occupation.
