The relevancy of the result of these 2 tests

by raven777 on Fri May 03, 2013 11:39 am

I've written before about some of my test results. Anyway, what are some indicators of a urine immunofixation (24 hr. ) with the creatine/protein test being abnormal at 114, and a normal kappa and lambda but an abnormal kappa/lambda ratio at 18.21. Hemotologist will retest in September. My symptoms are continuous infections, sinus, uti's and extreme back, ribs and neck pain. However, this is due to severe degeneration as per MRI and not myeloma.

I would be concerned about my kidneys. Perhaps, you should see a nephrologist independent of your hematologist. Good luck.

Thanks. I go to a nephrologist and my kidneys are fine. The hematologist said I have MGUS and that's why I have to get tested every 6 months. I was just wondering why there was no abnormality in the kappa and the lambda but yet an abnormality in the kappa/lambda ratio. All my other tests are posted under Help! Abnormal labs.
