Thalidomide, evening or morning?

by tpt on Sat Jul 14, 2012 12:08 am

Hello,

My dad is handled by two doctors. The first doctor told him to take thalidomide 1 hr before bedtime. The second doctor, the current one, told him to take it two hours after breakfast in the morning.

Which one is preferable? Why? I know thalidomide makes him sleepy but there's gotta be a reason why the current doctor told him to take it in the morning.

Thanks!

Cant answer your question but are either of your dads docs myeloma experts?

The reason I was told to take it at night is because the drug makes you tired and most people would rather be tired at night vs during day so they can do things..

I have reommended in the evening secondary to the fatigue/sleepines that is sometimes associated with it.
