My husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma August 2013 at 44 years old.
He has had 3 surgeries to place rods in his arm from the cancer that attacked his bones. He went through radiation, chemotherapy in 2011 and bone marrow transplant in April 2012.
He is currently taking Revlimid and is receiving IV Zometa treatments monthly. He has been in remission since the transplant.
He is not able to go to work because of peripheral neuropathy, pain, weakness, nauseous constantly, arm pain, shoulder pain, lower back pain along with several other problems.
Last test results showed blood work abnormal:
WBC low, RBC low, HCT low, Kappa spiked 23.73, SEG 40, NEUT Aboslute 1.7, Creatinine 1.5, eGFR 53, Immunofixaction studies showed the presence of lambda paraprotein. A left shift is present.
His doctor is out with a family emergency and a NP just told him test are okay just to drink more water. I researched the lab results somewhat on line and from what I can find test results indicates multiple myeloma presence.
I am worried the multiple myeloma has came back.

Re: Test results abnormal - has myeloma returned?
Would need to know if the lambda on the immunofixation was previously normal. And were his blood counts previously normal? If they were, this is concerning for relapse.
