Hi,
My mother is on Revlimid for multiple myleoma for 6 weeks, so far doctors have not been able to tell how the Revlimid is working.
She has just had blood results back today (she gets them done weekly) and there has been a sudden rise of the urea from 5.6 to 8.2. Her corrected calcium has also gone out of the normal range to 2.6. I understand the theory that the bones get eaten away so to speak, and the calcium gets into the bloods, and therefore the kidneys can't cope with the abnormal levels.
Is this jump of 5.6 to 8.2 a serious sign of kidney failure? Can anything be done to help this? She is now drinking as much water to help flush her out but worrying that there could be permenant damage done?
Has anyone else experianced anything similar, either good or bad?
