Does anyone know if the Chronic Disease Fund covers Velcade administered SubQ? I've used them for Revlimid and IV Velcade but have just been put on a CyBorD treatment and got a bill for the treatment. I about had a heart attack!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Subcutaneous (SubQ) Velcade and financial help
Did you try calling the Velcade Patient Assistance Program (PAP)
1-866-VELCADE (835-2233), option 2. They may be able to help?

Just curious how much that runs? I just had my first round and haven't seen the bill yet or asked. My insurance should take care of it but someday I may have to pony up some money.

Velcade cost me $95 for a 90 day prescrption. I have to have a shot once every two weeks. My dr. Allows me to self administer my shot. If i had the hospital do it, it would cost me $253 out of pocket per shot. See what your insurance will do. Its easy to mix and its easy to give. I have a grest doctor.

You need to call the Chronic Disease Fund about your question. If they paid for IV Velcade given in the doctor's office or outpatient infusion center, then I bet that they would cover the subQ Velcade. Your medical insurance doesn't cover infusions or injections for cancer done as an outpatient?

Re: Subcutaneous (SubQ) Velcade and financial help
Yeah ... CDF Fund helps with Velcade. I just got my card the other day as well as transportation assistance card from them. Basically any of their help for multiple myeloma predicates upon if Velcade is being used (or if there is another approved drug on their list). So I got this trip to Seattle that I applied for assistance for, but now that I am done with my Velcade treatments and I know I am not receiving Velcade for SCT in Seattle, I can't use it. Otherwise, it is a very helpful aid if indeed you are being treated with Velcade, as they will provide transportation (gas) assistance and co-pay for Velcade assistance.
