Coach Hoke:
Your age or physical condition may be a factor here. I asked my oncologist about the stem cell transplant situation just in case my multiple myeloma were to become active again. He said I would not be given one. Said they have to neutralize my bone marrow prior to the transplant and I was no longer in a position to do that ? N.G.

Re: Stopping Revlimid?
I'm 73 years old, but very healthy for my age (ex-marathon runner and still very physically active) except for multiple lytic lesions in my spine (asymptomatic) and a 0.2 g/dL M-spike (constant for 20 months).
If not for the Revlimid, I would feel 25 years younger.

Re: Stopping Revlimid?
Forum member DanielR originally posted here in this discussion an extended introduction describing his diagnosis and treatment. We thought it would fit better in the Introductions & Personal Stories section of the forum, so we moved it there and gave it a discussion thread of its own, "Aloha from Daniel in Honolulu."
There is information in the posting relevant to this thread, since Daniel did stop treatment with Velcade and dex a while after his stem cell transplant and has been doing well. He also has not had any Revlimid since prior to his transplant.
